Anyone with basic knowledge of XML files (or willing to learn) can help with the standalone. It's mostly just mindless data entry or trial and error. We need testers, too.
Failing that, community spirit will go a long way! Keep this place bumping.

He is definitely going to need some help with other programmers. Look at other EMU servers. They took a long time to come out with a lot more than one person working on them. Take Star Wars Galaxies for example. Not totally sure when the EMU project started there. It was a much more popular game and has a lot of volunteers helping with it and its still not complete. It has a working game but still has issues.
For this to happen with any reasonable amount of time its definitely going to need the backing of programmers if not financial support to hire programmers.
Is there any possibility of working on a kickstarter here?

I have no knowledge of xml but as long as it's a trial and error thing i guess i could learn/help. Download the standalone and in the data/dev/DFdata/ folder you'll see xml and xml-files folders. xml-files folder is mostly server files and are the most important files you'll want to learn. xml folder tends to be less important but still neat. Stick to similar syntax and you'll pick it up in no time. It's fun to mess around with. Really, anyone can help if they have the time. The server is where we need serious help, but those who want to chip in just dig in!

(are all the vendors, elevators, etc... settings on those files???)

Try getting a hold of AV and convince them to give all data of DFO they can find to the people making the emulator.

Try getting a hold of AV and convince them to give all data of DFO they can find to the people making the emulator. I strongly doubt they'd even consider that. Many of their current customers would play it and that means less money for them. We'll have to make our own way I'm afraid.

I'm a 3rd year Cs/It major, I have experience in both C and assembly. I'm new to xml and exactly what needs to be modified in order to get the emulator in a playable state, but hopefully I can make some sense of this and be of some help.
