people are walking way to fast into the future. Especially people who dont understand what is actually possible with dfo engine and coding and so forth.. I would be wise to first get some info about that and they actually start debatting what people want and what is possible... I appreciate all sweat and efforts done by everyone.. but lets be clear on some facts here. - Av wants to make money on this license deal.. so the first priority should be what that amount of money will be.. - DFO, if relaunched will not have insane amount of people.. its more like a small club that enjoys this game.. i think its fair to say that if you will get between 1k - 1.5k subs for this game.. you can clap your hands; - the tech of engine comes from 2002 orso.. so your are limited with what you can actually do with this. keep this mind. People need to be realistic about the situation i agree

-Andrewthis is exactly what i mean andrew.. "pretty sure" but in the mean while you dont know for 100% Telling to me that im a troll on reddit dont work either.. im on the same side as you but im pretty realistic about the situtation.. - most of sheeps of darkfall players already forgot darkfall and left to other games - what is left is a small but dedicated group of 1k to hopefully 2k players After reading your post and your "big plans" for all kind of stuff for df1 i wonder ( dont get this wrong way) what is actually neccasary for that stuff. Stuff like getting in contact with razorwax people to start working on df1 again Stuff like patching the game(df1) to make it more appealing to new players Stuff like big marking plans All your post are very ambitieus and enjoyable to read...but its simply not realistic @ all. Yes everyone can start company nowadays, but do you wanne be personally( your own belongings) responsible when making this deal with AV.. i truely hope that you have thought things over and over about this.. it would be a shame if you ruin your own financial situation @ home for a game realistic prospective of df1 ( personally) : Sort of emulator ran by people in an open source environment or the buyout of df1 coding and franshise through kickstarter or crowdfunding by the dedicated people of df1 players... run in an open source environment aswell Already said on reddit aswell.. im intrested in what deal they will be offering for this.. and i cant say this enough times.. this should be your MAIN FOCUS currently.. and forget about "the stuff" mentioned above for now.. i dont think alot of players will pay AV's retirement funds.. AV has nothing left.. no playerbase; no money; country in ruines and so forth

I was calling you a naysayer not a troll for the record .
I won't be financially backing this whole project, I'm throwing a few bucks to get some minor things handled but ultimately we'll be looking for investors and a kickstarter campaign for funding.
I've been in contact with a few of the old developers, the ones I spoke with aren't interested in working on the project. I have had conversations back and forth with the original game logic developer though, he's been helpful with answering some of the tech questions I had. I've been talking with some of the programmers in AV as well, one whom worked on DFO and is very knowledgeable on it.
The game engine was improved and worked on up till 2007. I wasn't sure the exact year offhand when I wrote that was all.
The reason for posting some details about where we are headed is because a project with no focus, no goal cannot gain traction. I expect we may not succeed but if I plan to fail then we most certainly will. If the community is never made aware of our projects vision why would they even give it the time of day?
Many people have posted wishing someone would take on the task, instead of being one of them I decided to take action. Sure we might fail but I'm not going to start a project with anything but how to succeed as my focus.
I feel that there is a player base for Darkfall, if it returned and was updated in a direction players have been asking for since it started it could be successful. I look around and I don't see anything on the market that has the features and ideals Darkfall has. There is a reason over 400,000 forum accounts were created over the last 10+ years.

Thanks for the update. most of us are silently watching. But the numbers are here waiting. You update us more then AV does. Which is sad that a "company" if they are even that cannot give weekly updates, or even monthly. Fuck them. Thanks Hussien keep it up!
