Hey guys, so i was thinking about this earlier, and it could be possible.
We speak with Aventurine and determine a solid price on DFO, with the price in mind, we then open a kickstarter to raise money to essentially buy the game, and a small dev team (existing guys working on the emu).
Now, were obviously not talking a few thousand dollars, were talking $500,000 + which clearly wont be an easy task to do. But with the right advertising, its possible. If Aventurine originally sold 100,000 copies then i see no reason as to why we couldn't get the funding from people. There would be a new team behind it, and a passionate one at that, because clearly the amount of work put into the emu is just amazing.
This might be way out of our limits, but what are your guys thoughts ?

i am in favor of a kick starter for this project, however AV wanted like 650K for the code.. that's really not worth raising that much money just to have to pay more for devs and up keep. id rather raise that money and put it towards hiring people to reverse engineer the game. plus this EMU has come along way to buy their game now seems a little late.

That's a lot of money, and the people who work on the emu actually have full time jobs and such. I think our current path is fine.

You gotta have very very much patience if you expect this emu to run in multiplayer.
the best thing that can happeN is that they set up a dfo server. Even if they go bankrupt in 2 month there should be plenty of data gathered to fire the emu development years ahead. If they keep existing and the servers runs and is full Of players. Why not play then and support the company....
Thats why we gotta support it anyways.

Av has been really slow as it is. So either this takes a year or relaunching the dfo a year later as well no matter what there will be time and i would bet it would take AV longer. The big problem is AV has proven to not be able to fix bugs and exploits in a timely mannor and doesnt reall give good communication. It had been better but I would trust these people making the emu to communicate better with its followers than AV ever has

But I am also backing AV with the DFO server. Like you said, AV opening a server could catapult the EMU months to years ahead of what its at right now.

You guys are complaining about 650k?!?!?! we could EASILY get that threw kickstarter for this game!!!!! that isnt even close to alot of money for a game. if minecraft can sell for 2.5 BILLION then df selling for 650k is insanely cheap.
FYI if you own the code PLUS CHANGE the name you can then ether make the game a f2p via cash shop (inb4 ragers complain about making it p2w when a f2p mode for this game would be easy as fuck to do no status effects req.) or a p2p model lol. that way you guys with FULL TIME JOBS can quite lol and work full time on this game.

someone is affected. holy hell difference between being effected and not understanding why people wouldnt do this. hec if i could ever talk to tasos (why dont they have a buisness number like ever other business in the world) id buy the code myself ._. hire a bunch of monkeys (not gorillas they are to mean) and maybe a few hamsters... would still be a better dev team then all of AV.
