Here is my thing... when someone says DFO I dont think of any aspect of DFUW.. if your making a DFO private server then I expect it to be only DFO stuff with maybe a few things that dont change the way the game is played but what we have as options to keep us from bank staring all day..
Prowess was in theory a good idea. But DFO is leveling skills by using them making the pvpers have strong skills and the crafters have high crafting. Rare ores were gathered in mines and maybe some times from normal nodes and it didnt take random ingredients to smelt the ore or cut the wood or take cloth and level up to bone armro.. DFO is not like DFUW prowess, rare essences, and refined mat requirements those are all dfuw aspects and i wouldnt lose a wink of sleep if thwy didnt make it into the DFO private server.

Our current stance on the emulator is to emulate Darkfall EXACTLY as it was towards the last few months (just before super skill gains) and then work from there. There may be a couple of exceptions to this, but nothing game changing - most likely things that will enhance the first couple months. Then changes would be proposed by those in an 'invite only' forum (if most of us agree on proposing) or by popular opinion by the community. Then the ideas would either be voted on by the community, or certain representatives - that part isn't decided yet. There are a lot of good ideas of what to change and what to add, but it's easier to focus on what we know first, and go from there.

personally i despise the crafting changes, just ask Hussein how i feel he knows. Crafting in DFO was da bomb, crafting in DFUW... well.. isnt crafting. its a game of buying crap and combining crap and hoping to find some crap in an effort to make what? crap.
i'm here for the Emulator and my pals and my beloved DFO in its whole entire madness.
that being said, i hope that absolutely NO single aspect of dfuw ever makes it into the emulator.

Crafting in DFO was da bomb, crafting in DFUW... well.. isnt crafting. its a game of buying crap and combining crap and hoping to find some crap in an effort to make what? crap. i'm here for the Emulator and my pals and my beloved DFO in its whole entire madness. that being said, i hope that absolutely NO single aspect of dfuw ever makes it into the emulator. the changes to the crafting in dfuw where actually good in some ways (kinda over the top in others) it kept idiots from crafting chain to max out the whole skill... thats why you want it... to be lazy. there are some aspects of dfuw that would have helped dfo... and so many that would kill it... the thing is... finding the ones that would help it.... id say safe zones BUTTT that would require to much work to actually implement (one of the few features dfuw did right) ... infact most of the town aspects where great... ship combat was a whole lot smoother with awesome features aswell.... aside from that and better graphics(not including char models) i cant honestly name a single thing better about that game vs this one... other then a few things i can't consider them the same game at all. personally id like to see a suggestion i made ages ago come into the game but i doubt any elitest would dare like the feature as it would require not being handed every single thing... i would like for everyone to start out knowing how to make rags/broken chainmail .... and instead of JUST skilling up the skill to 100 to get inf and drag... make it so you UNLOCK the other crafting recipes by finding them on mobs..... would help the economy a whole lot... or we could go back to how it was b4 the game died where no one gave a crap about trading because everyone could do everything. because if you havnt guessed it already people are gonna just make alt accounts to hit nodes all day long and then max out their crafting that way... my pc now can run like 10-15 clients... if my internet allows it ofc (prob max out at 8 tbh with my net issues) so 8 x 40 = 320 ore per 30 mins... yea.. i wont be in max gear in say... 2 - 4 weeks... then its just skilling up my char which i can do with a macro in say idk a month? (they said they where gonna increase skill gain im assuming my heal spells will be maxed first day including attack skills) yea so basically exactly back to the point the game died. NOT everything about dfo was good. the crafting was the most pointless redundant task in the game. at LEAST pve was fun. crafting you just sat there like an idiot and couldnt do crap while you crafted for a few hours.

Uw launch I spent hours trying to kill people only to have most of them run back into the damn safe zones. This discourages pvp in a pvp based game...See a problem with that logic? Because I sure as hell do.

Why safe zones...most stupid idea ever. Just give new players a protection for a few days. They can turn that off by hitting other people.

Because I sure as hell do. i agree the way they HANDLED it was stupid the concept itself is useful (i also had this happen in DFUW lol) they should steal a page from UO/MO and make it so if someone hits you within a time limit BAM resets your count down to safety... literally a 10 second fix and AV was to retarded to be able to even do that... also the time should be 2-5 minutes not 30 seconds.

Hell true story here for ya (it happened a LONG ass time ago before i even joined Newer lol)... i was joking around with a vet thinkin it was awesome i had my first piece of FP and told him i could kick his ass he said even in the best set of armor ingame he could kill me naked... so he literally gave me a full set of drak plus the best sword in the game (i forget the name of it but i know people never used it because it was far to damn expensive.) and he used a the leaf blade and wooped my ass ;^; in a few seconds lol I thought I recognized your name.
