I thought the mahirim were the absolute coolest looking thing ever, so i rolled one.
I was out by my starter village, asking noob questions ( i still didnt understand what that damned circling acorn was for) and this guy offers to help me out..
he gives me a mount, we're riding out near some ruins and boom, get jumped by two dudes, he dispatched both of them with ease (at least it looked that way).
he brought back the bags, gave them both to me, gave me a sack full of mounts, gave me more armor/weapons, showed me where the goblins were and guarded me for nearly two hours while i learned the ropes.
i dont remember that guys name but i remember what he did for me, thats when i started to appreciate darkfall.
what should you take from this? nothing, something, anything...maybe learn to be nice to strangers...
the mentor system was one of the great things about uw.. it'd be great if they could incorporate it into DFO.

I started out as a elf and couldn't figure out a damn thing so I went exploring around and ended up running to human lands where I met a player who gave me everything I would need to progress my character after a day or to he accepted me into his clan I was so not sure about the game until the first time Alberworth was attacked. I watched (I couldn't do anything) as a 10v10 broke out the adrenaline rush I got from my first fight is what hooked me

My first was the first day or two of closed beta. I rolled a human female (back then you could create multiple characters) and ran around the Sandbrook area. Killing goblins and taking in the sights.
And first time in the emulator, where do I find myself? Sandbrook! Felt like being born anew.

My first experience was starting up with about 20 guys we mostly rolled human we were grinding up making decent progress then a clan about 4-6 guys went to war with us and camped us for days while we tried moving to dwarf lands. Fun fun. 2 out of 20 kept playing lol.

my first day was launch day. Started in human lands. Monkfield or something is th think. everyone was active and doing something. There were tons of people. one dude was spamming the local chat with racist paroles.... so i started farming goblins. suddenly one guys name went grey and he got swarm raped waited for my friend to log in and then we thought we go out explore a bit. We reach a massive castle with those mobs looking like that vampire guy from metal gear solid 2. Ofc they dealt tons of dmg...booom server crash

I left shoal in beta and made my way to a goblin spawn full of people trying to turn each other red by jumping into each others mana missles Tried in vain to get a few kills AND loot before some asshole stole the individually placed materials! Then walked off to explore, found a player grave by a mob spawn with what seemed like shit loads if loot. Stared running back to the bank like a carebear, heart racing, only to get gsbgbanged by ten guys lurking on the edge of shoal. Welcome to DF. I was hooked.
